The 2010 Chicago Bears are poised to take the next step in the evolution of the franchise. In the off-season the team traded their 2nd round pick to Tampa Bay for Gaines Adams, (who passed away on January 17, 2010). The team also traded their 2010 1st round pick and Kyle Orton to the Denver Broncos for QB Jay Cutler.
The Bears finished the 2010 season with an 11-5 record, winning the NFC North and earning a first round bye. Head Coach Lovie Smith is looking forward to the post season. He was recently asked if things sped up in the playoffs. "I'm not one that buys into that argument at all, 'The speed of the game,'" Smith said. "The later you get into the season, a lot more is at stake and things are starting to clear up a little bit more. We played tough games, and I don't see the game improving that much more, and I would like to think that coaching-wise that we've been making the same type of decisions. I don't see a lot changing."
